Grandma Peagram's Rice Pudding 01-May-2007
4 cups 2 % milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cups rice, short grain *
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cups brown sugar, packed
1 pinch salt
In a large saucepan, heat milk over medium high heat un til bubbles appear around edge. Remove from heat. In a greased 8 cup baking dish preferably glass, combine milk, rice, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt. Bake in 300°F oven about 2 hours or until rice is just tender and most of milk is absorbed, stirring twice during first hour |
